Looking for a fun weekend getaway from Denver? The La Quinta Art Celebration is a fabulous option! The four-day event has scheduled an encore for November that is sure to be just as unforgettable as the March original. 200 premier artists will set up shop in the gorgeous Coachella valley, along with live music and plenty of food vendors.
What to Expect at the La Quinta Art Celebration
Well, worth the trip to California, the La Quinta Art Celebration is a four-day event filled with amazing artwork, delicious food, and eclectic live music.
Art
The Coachella-based event features art in 11 categories:
- 2-D Mixed Media
- 3-D Mixed Media
- Ceramics
- Drawing & Pastel
- Jewelry
- Painting
- Photography
- Sculpture
- Wood
- Glass

Entrants are subjected to a rigorous jurying process and must adhere to strict guidelines at the festival. The most recent celebration included works from 31 states and 6 countries.
The festival is patronized by art lovers from all over the country, but especially the residents of Coachella and surrounding areas. The celebration coincides with the Margaritaville National Pickleball Championship, which draws over 30,000 visitors annually. The Championships are just three miles away from the art festival, so you can expect to see a sizable influx after the game.
Whatever your taste in artwork, you are sure to find something you love at this festival. Be sure to check out Pergamina Fine Art, the studio of artistic power duo Christ Wheeler and Nha Vuu. Chris makes gorgeous still-lifes and landscapes with edgy geometric design and unexpected pops of color. Nha’s work is a modern ode to nature and her Vietnamese roots, with elements like lotus blossoms and bamboo forests traced in delicate pen and splashed with water colors.

Music
Live music is a big part of the LaQuinta art celebration. A different artist or group is featured daily, performing on the Amphitheater Stage. You will be treated to an eclectic lineup of music, from saxophone to Euro guitar. Past artists have included Scott Carter, Shaken Not Stirred, and Michael Anthony Gagliardi.
Food & Beverage
There is no shortage of delicious food and drink at La Quinta. You will find cuisine suited to almost any taste, from southern-style seafood dishes to Greek and Mediterranean fare. Pair your meal with a libation from several high end bars, like the Champagne bar or the Wine experience at Celebration Bistro, featuring premium California wine selections.
I don’t know about you, but I am suddenly very excited for November! If you are able to go, tell me about the treasures you found in the comments below!
